Over 150 artisans took part in the VIth edition of the International fair „La Vatra Olarului Vasile Gonciari” (at the hearth of potter Vasile Goncear) which was held from 16 to 17 July 2016 in the village Hoginești, district Călărași. Vasile Goncear, the organizer of the festival declared that the main motivation for organizing this event is the fact that he comes from a dynasty of potters and since childhood he was inspired by the traditional art of pottery and that is why he does everything possible to revive, to bring public’s attention and show to his countrymen the beauty of this unique craft and so close to our people.
Here the popular craftsmen expose their most beautiful pots and handicrafts created by them and the visitors have the possibility to participate in master classes and interactive workshops devoted to pottery, guided by the burned clay artists.
Even guests are greeted with a variety of traditional dishes cooked by the housewives fro Hoginești village. Rural atmosphere of the festival es completed with an artistic program with the participation of young talents and folk bands from the country and concluded with a wonderful recital of the band „Millenium-Band”.
Day 1:
Transfer from the airport to the hotel. The tour of Chișinău City: Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard, the Metropolitan Cathedral „Nativity of the Lord”, the Parliament, the Circus, the Opera and Ballet National Theatre „Maria Bieșu”, the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova, the Railway Station, the monument „ The Train of Pain”, the National Square, the Arch of Triumph, the monument Ștefan cel Mare, the Public Garden, the Classics Alley, etc. The visit of the underground city winery „Cricova”. In the evening, the dinner in the restaurant „La Taifas”, a totally traditional style including a folk program.
Day 2:
The visit of touristic objectives: the Museum “Casa Parinteasca” (the parental home), the wooden church, the worksop of the potter Vasile Gonciari. Participation at the festival „The potter Gonciari”
Day 3:
The visit of touristic objectives: wine and cognac factory “Calarasi”, the Monastic Complex Răciula, the agrotouristic pension “Casa Mierii” (the Honey Home).
Day 4:
Transfer to the airport in Chisinau for the trip back home.
