Monastery Japca is situated in Florești district, on the shore of the river Nistru.It is the only Monastery in Basarabia that was never closed by Soviet authorities. It was founded in the XVII century. The metropolitan Gavriil Bănulescu Bodoni gave it the status of monastery and in the XIX century it was reconstructed completely. Here there are 5 sources, the main one is Saint Maria and it is considered that it has healing water. The monastery has its doors opened for all guests especially from Ukraine, Romania and Russia. The status of the monastery is very severe, it is prohibited the use of electricity, telephones, television as well the use of internet.
