The Monastery Curchi is a monastery of monks situated in the Orhei Codri, only 55 km far from Chișinău. It is one of the most significant monuments laid on two terraces. Upside there is the monastery yard and on the downside there is a stone lake. As an architectural complex it was built in the XVIII-XIX centuries and consists of two churches, nine sanctum buildings, an orchard and a stone lake. The monastery was built by Iordache Curchiu from Morozeni and he was helped by his brothers from Bogzești. In 1958 the Monastery was closed and here there was a psychiatry hospital. In 2002 the monastery renewed. Unfortunately the pictures of saints were not saved but it still remains the most visited not only by Moldovan people as well as by tourists fom abroad.
