The Jewish Cemetery is situated in Chișinău City, Buiucani district. No public transportation go near the gate of this place.
The Jewish Cemetery is one of the oldest cemetery from Chișinău. According to some information the funerals began in the XIX century. Here there is the tomb of the main rabbi from Basarabia - Leib Yehuda Țirilson, also here you can see the unique funeral synagogue from Moldova.
During the Second World War the East part of the cemetery was largely deteriorated and in 1958 this place was transformed in an open air agricultural market. In 1960 the East part was destroyed completely. The stones were used to build the fences of others cemeteries and roads as well.
Currently the West part of the cemetery is reconstructed and it is in use.
