On The Traces Of Bell Ringer Tour

Moldova is a country of monasteries and churches. The small territory of the Republic of Moldova has a big number and a high concentration of orthodox Christian monastic settlements as comparable to Mount Athos in Greece and Moldovan sub-Carpathians and Bucovina in Romania.

Currently, in the Republic of Moldova, there are 65 monastic places, of which 61 monasteries and 4 sketes, forming a Christian orthodox network throughout the country. Each monastery or church has bells because the bells constitute an integral part of Christian worship since ancient times.

Besides the wooden chop with its various forms, in Christian worship, the bells are used as a notification tool of the church service beginning or as a marking tool of important moments. The church bells give a liturgical measure to the time filling it with importance. Putting the bells makes a man get out of the daily routine, into a reality beyond that which falls under the senses.

Participation in this trip gives you the opportunity to learn the significance of the bells, their history, and of course the significance of the bell rings. You will necessarily participate in a master class given by a professional bell ringer.

Day 1: Chișinău City Tour

Transfer from the airport to the hotel. The tour of Chișinău City: Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard, the Metropolitan Cathedral „Nativity of the Lord”, the Parliament, the Circus, the Opera and Ballet National Theatre „Maria Bieșu”, the Presidency of the Republic of Moldova, the Railway Station, the monument „ The Train of Pain”, the National Square, the Arch of Triumph, the monument Ștefan cel Mare, the Public Garden, the Classics Alley, etc. The visit to the underground city winery „Cricova”. In the evening, the dinner in the restaurant „La Taifas”, a totally traditional style including a folk program.

Day 2: Tiraspol City Tour

The visit of the castle Tighina from Bender, the tour of Tiraspol city, the monastery „Noul Neamț” from Chițcani, the museum complex of Grigori Corzun from Târnăuca, the monastery „Sfanta Marta si Maria” in hagimus, the memorial house „Alexei Matevici” in Zaim, the winery „Dionysos - Mereni” in Mereni village.

Day 3: Museum Tour

The visit of the museum complex of Grigori Corzun from Târnăuca, the monastery „Sfanta Marta si Maria” in hagimus, the memorial house „Alexei Matevici” in Zaim, the winery „Dionysos - Mereni” in Mereni village.

Day 4: Departure

Transfer to the airport in Chisinau for the trip back home.
