For someone it is the meaning of life, the way of entertainment, while someone is making money on this. But in any case, in Moldova it cannot be called a commercial sport. Horseback riding has always been considered spectacular and attractive. In Moldova, they develop only two kinds of it: jumping and dressage.

Horseback riding is a very specific recreational sport, because it is built on the union of a man and an animal. In Moldova, they have all the necessary conditions to educate future Olympians in riding event.

There are complexes in Moldova which prove that they look to the future with optimism. “Sparta” complex is one of them. Today in this equestrian centre there functions a perfect show jumping field, fully compliant with international standards. There are modern stables, equipped with a sense of special care and love of horses. This club is a 15-minute drive from Chisinau (the capital of Moldova), in the beautiful surroundings of the village Budesti. Its location gives a great opportunity to break away from the bustle of the big city and plunge into the magic world of communication with horses. They have experienced instructors, famous both in Moldova and abroad. As for trainings, they invite world-class coaches and athletes. It is important that they have started to appear young horses, not purchased outside the country, while those grown in Moldova. Indeed, “Sparta” – this is the complex which is the most popular among Moldavian equestrian sport fans.

Besides the “Sparta” Club, there is another reputable club with lots of horses – in Balti (North of Moldova). That’s the way it is called – “Balti”. There is no much funding from the state and local authorities, but there is a private investor who is interested in the fact of keeping afloat this sport in Balti.

Also the ‘Impuls Club’ is located at the local hippodrome. They offer year-round riding lessons and tours on horseback for all ages .

You can also try riding at the Republican specialized school of equestrian sport in Chisinau, where functions the Children and Youth equestrian club “Favorit”. And don’t forget to try a horse or pony ride at Chisinau zoo:
